1.Children are individuals with having variation in nature and are different from adults.
2.The most important years of physical and mental development and growth are the first six years of child’s life during which unconscious learning is gradually changed/transferred to conscious level.
3.Children have a deep love purposeful work which they do for the sake of doing work only according to the natural need for complete and proper development of their physical , mental areas along with inner satisfaction . They do not work for any job or profit or do not have any other materialistic approach .
4.Children posses different and positive behavior about the environment as compared to adults and absorb and learn more from the environment when information provided to them is integrated due to their sensitivity.
Maria Montessori came up with this method of education from observing the development of children.She found out that children have sensitive periods which exist between birth through six years and this time is a very crucial time for young children when they must learn independence and order to understand the huge world that is before them.
The teacher is called a directress in the Montessori Method because she directs the child.That is the child has to pick work independently ,although the teacher must direct the child so the child cannot do much of a single thing.
The Montessori Method has been very successful at teaching many children how to take care of them selves ,how to write,read,and use countless other skills that people need to survive successfully in today’s world.Children’s House is a Montessori program in which children ranging three to six years old are in one classroom .Montessori developed a system for teaching children which is different from the usual way where children sit at fixed desk,listening to lextures
