Invigilation/Observation
The constant observation is done by the directress when the child is performing his activity. The directress must ensure that the child who is obsorbed in his work is not disturbed by any child/companion as he is concentrated in efforts which are to elevate them ; it is one of the most dignified duties of the teacher.
The role of the examination invigilator is to ensure that examinations are conducted according to the current JCQ instructions for conducting examinations. The invigilator is the person in the examination room responsible for conducting a particular examination session in the presence of the candidates.
- confident and able to communicate with staff and pupils.
- team players, with the ability to work on ones own initiative.
- able to carry out core duties without supervision.
- able to manage/direct large groups of young people.
- able to work in an organised and structured way.
The minimum number of invigilators required for different kinds of examinations depends on the type of examinations held. For general written examinations, there should be at least one invigilator present against every 30 students for patrolling and vigilance at the examination hall.

Teachers may also be required to supervise internal examinations and tests where these take place during their normal timetabled teaching time. However, if a school reorganises the timetable for ‘mock’ examinations to replicate the public examination process then teachers should not be required to invigilate.
