Android Screenshot

To take a screenshot of an Android mobile phone, though is easy, however, every Android mobile phone has different features. A simple screenshot for all with power-and-volume-down-key together was introduced in Android 4, but new methods are also introduced in many phones.

Google phones:

  • Pixels: The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Nexus: The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

HTC phones:

  • HTC U12+: The power button needs to be held until the phone vibrates. After this, the virtual home button on the navigation bar needs to be tapped while still pressing the power button.
  • HTC U series (up to U12+): The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • HTC 10: The power and volume-down buttons or the home and power buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Other HTC phones: The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

Samsung phones:

  • Galaxy S8 and later: The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Galaxy S7 and earlier: The home and power buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

Acer phones:

  • The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Or tap the Screenshot icon present in a quick setting that appears on sliding the notification panel.

Asus phones:

  • The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Or tap the Screenshot icon present in a quick setting that appears on sliding the notification panel.

Motorola phones:

  • The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

OnePlus phones:

  • OnePlus 5, 5T, and 6: The three fingers need to be swiped down on the home screen.
  • All OnePlus phones: The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

Huawei and Honor phones:

  • The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Or tap the Screenshot icon present in the Shortcuts that appears on sliding the notification panel.

Lenovo:

  • The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Or tap the Screenshot icon that appears on sliding the notification panel.

LG phones:

  • LG G7: The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • Other LG phones: Tap the Capture+ icon that appears on swiping down the notification panel.

Sony phones:

  • The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.
  • The power key needs to be held until a screen appears where we need to click on the screenshot.

ZTE phones:

  • The power and volume-down buttons need to be held simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

Save and share:

A shortcut can be created to the screenshot in the notification panel, after taking the snap of the screenshot. To edit or share the screenshot, we just need to tap on the shortcut of the screenshot.

For Android 2.3 version and below:

With no built-in screenshot functionality, the Android 2.3 and below versions phones need to use a third-party application like No Root Screenshot It. This app needs to be installed on the phone to enable screenshots. Devices like Samsung phones however already have these features. But it varies from phone to phone, and not all Samsung devices with the Android 2.3 or below versions support these features.
