Steps to recover the lost android data:

  • Download and install the Dr.Fone Android data recovery software on the PC.
  • Open the software, after a successful installation.
  • Different actions to perform such as recovery, data transfer, restore social app will be displayed.
  • Before selecting any action, use a USB cable to connect your smartphone with your PC.

1. Recover deleted files from a functioning Android device:

The Fonedog Android Toolkit software can be used to recover the lost data when the Android phone is still in a working condition.

Steps to recover the deleted files from a functioning Android device:

  • Download and install the Fonedog Android Toolkit software.
  • Launch the data recovery software and connect the Android phone:

A variety of tools will be displayed on the windows on launching the software.

  • Click on “Android Data Recovery”.
  • Use a USB cable to connect the Android smartphone to the computer.
  • Enable USB debugging:

To allow a device for deeper-level actions with the computer, enable the USB debugging mode by following the below steps.

  • Select Settings.
  • Click “About Phone”.
  • Click Build Number until it prompts “You are under developer mode” come out.
  • Go back to Settings.
  • Select Developer options.
  • Click USB debugging.
  • Click OK on Android Recovery Software and OK on the device, to confirm the USB debugging.
  • Select the file type to scan in phone’s internal storage:

The different types of files that can be recovered, such as, contacts, SMS, audio, video, call logs, gallery, even WhatsApp messages, and attachments, will be displayed on the software’s interface.

  • Select the boxes of the file type to be retrieved.
  • Click on Next to start scanning.
  • Preview the deleted files and recover it from Android internal memory:

The interface will display all the applicable files found on the phone after the scanning process has completed.

  • The categories of the file and the number of files found per category will be displayed on the left side.
  • Click one category at a time.
  • The preview of the files of the selected category will be displayed on the right side.
  • Select the files to recover.
  • To recover the file(s) select Recover.

2. Recover lost data from a broken Android device:

Visit the “FoneDog Toolkit – Broken Android Data Extraction” section, if the device gets damaged but the lost data needs to be retrieved from the broken device.

    Steps to retrieve the lost data from a damaged device:

    • Confirm that your device is on the supporting list.
    • Launch the FoneDog Android Toolkit.
    • Connect your smartphone.
    • From the available choices, choose Android Data Extraction.
    • Choose the situation, if a prompt appears.
    • Various recoverable file types will be displayed. Choose accordingly.
    • Click Next.
    • The smartphone will be scanned for lost or deleted data.
    • The file categories will be displayed on the left portion and available files on the right, after the completion of the scanning process.
    • Preview the files to check if they are required.
    • Select the files to keep them.
    • To retrieve the data or files, click on the Recover button.
