Introduction
Dr.Maria Montessori is the founder of Montessori method which is the revolutionary method of teaching . This educational revolution changed the way , we think about children , more then anyone before or since .Her educational method is in use today throughout the world including Pakistan .
Maria Montessori was born on 31st August 1890 in Chiaravalle ( Ancona ) , Italy .Her father name was Alessandro Montessori who was an old fashioned , conservative military man.
Her mother was a liberal women named Renlide Montessori . She was very well educated and loved to read books.She provided her the strong spirit and support .
Dr.Maria Montessori was close to her father , but in fact it was her mother considered to be self-confident , optimize and greatly interested in change .
She quickly distinguished herself from other girl of her time with same social and economical background by her determination to have a good education .She faced opposition from her father but she studied engineering at university and later switched to medicine .
Women in her time were not encouraged to get than an elementary school education due to conservative behavior of Europe on women’s Education . Montessori father discouraged her interest in a professional career .With the encouragement and support of her mother,however , she prepared herself for her latter career .
Her interest in engineering technology and mathematics led her to enroll at a technical institute but after sometimes her interest in biology led her to study medicine.Her Father was shocked and disapproved her decision.At that time it was considered impossible for a women to be accepted into a medical school to work side by side with men and studying the human body .Her mother continued to support her .
